JON Snow barely escaped with his life in this week's Game Of Thrones, but he'll have to face the evil Cersei Lannister in the season finale next week. A new trailer shows the King Of The North prepare to present his White Walker prisoner to the Lannister queen and her brother Jaime in the Dragon pit. Meanwhile Daenerys's army surround King's Landing while Greyworm and the Unsullied lay siege to another unknown castle. Theon Greyjoy is seen sinking to his knees on a beach while Tyrion Lannister looks sombre as he prepares to face his sister again. After escaping the clutching of the White Walkers and the Night King, Jon is in fighting mood. He tells the gathering: "There's only one war that matters and it is here." Last week, she saved Jon from certain death at the hands of the … [Read more...] about Game of Thrones spoilers: Jon Snow faces off against Cersei Lannister as Daenerys Targaryen’s army surrounds King’s Landing in the season finale
One Direction’s Harry Styles will make his movie debut this month in Dunkirk, an ambitious retelling of the 1940 evacuation of more than 330,000 Allied troops from the Nazi-besieged beaches of Dunkirk. When watching the trailer, I caught a brief glimpse of medics carrying a wounded man on a stretcher. As someone who’s seen war up close, my first thought was that art really doesn’t imitate life. During the war in Afghanistan in 2011, I spent six weeks at an army hospital in Camp Bastion as part of my research on high-performing teams. At the time, it was the world’s bloodiest hospital and I was surprised to learn that it was also home to many a war movie on the base’s TV screens. I quickly learned that the portrayal of war casualties on film and television is usually far off the mark. People bleed differently on telly than they do in real life. When hurt, they are more subdued than their movie and TV antics would have one believe. They die differently. … [Read more...] about What my time at an Afghan army camp taught me about war films
He suggested the bloc’s leaders were trying to cover up its desire for further European integration by floating ideas of an EU army.Federica Mogherini, the EU’s foreign affairs commissioner, has already revealed Brussels’ vision for a European “security and defence union” to rival Nato as Europe’s military defender.Speaking in Strasbourg on Tuesday, Ms Mogherini attempted to claim the blueprints would not lead to an EU army, adding: “There’s an a genuine European way to security made of civilian and military means, soft and hard power, cooperation and autonomy.”Mr Van Orden, MEP for the East of England, said: “To create autonomous defence – we all know it’s about European political integration, and that’s what it’s about. In the role reversal version of the famous fairy tale, French star Omar plays a sleeping Prince Charming, whose co-star actress and dancer Alexia Giordano, tries desperately to wake. Discussions on gender equality often centre on struggles women face in the workplace with reports last year of their being less women leading FTSE companies in the UK than men called Dave and less in America than men called John. In the music industry, however, girl power finally reigns supreme. “Now is the time for women. I don’t think it’s harder in the music industry, I think we’ve got some amazing female artists. I think we need more, especially girl groups, and I think it is our time now” says Nadine Samuels, from Aylesbury, one third of the new girls group M.O “M.O means modus operandi, it’s Latin for mode of operation. It is a positive way to achieve your dream or goal. You hear it a lot in police programmes. We found it when we were in a taxi and it was in a Drake song, The Motto, it just stood out to all of us. “I’ve had times when I thought maybe I’ll never get into the industry, if you believe in it you can make … [Read more...] about New girl band M.O – hailed as the British TLC

Jim Spellman/Getty Images; Lisa Berg / NBC; AP Photo/J. Scott Applewhite; Stephen Lovekin/Getty Images When someone wears crazy headgear, simulates dirty deeds on national television or leaves the father of their eight children, they are undeniably interesting. At least, Barbara Walters thinks so. The View queen has unleashed the bottom nine of her annual 10 Most Fascinating list. Of course, Lady Gaga, Adam Lambert and Kate Gosselin made the list. Since Michael Jackson couldn't be there, his kids—Prince Michael, Paris and Blanket—will represent one of the biggest stories of the year. Entertainment mogul Tyler Perry, unretired quarterback Brett Favre and TV/radio host Glenn Beck also scored spots on the list. Ditto for South Carolina's scorned first lady, Jenny Sanford. Sarah Palin became the first person to earn consecutive slots on the television special (airing next Wednesday). That rounds out the nine, and now we're taking wagers on who topped the list. Walters has all … [Read more...] about Are You Fascinated by Gaga, Lambert, Gosselin and M.J.’s Kids?
ADC/Keystone/ZUMAPress.com; Dave Hogam/Getty Images Now that M.J. is dead, who has the rights to the Beatles songs—and will we be able to buy them on iTunes?—Casey The publishing rights to most of the Beatles' biggest hits are owned by one entity, a joint venture between the late Michael Jackson and the music arm of Sony Corp. It's called Sony/ATV, and it also owns the rights to songs written by Bob Dylan, Neil Diamond, Taylor Swift and, oh yes, the Jonas Brothers. But Sony/ATV does not handle the recordings of Beatles songs. Two other companies do that, so whether you'll ever download "Come Together" off of iTunes has nothing to do with M.J.'s death. I'll have more info on that for you later in this story. As for what happens to Jackson's portion of that legendary publishing catalogue, welcome to the big, hot mess that is Jacko's estate... Why? Well, because Jackson was also, according to reports, mired in some truly epic financial drama. Even the value of Sony/ATV is … [Read more...] about Who Owns the Beatles Songs Now That M.J.’s Dead?
That cloudy rumor mill that is the paternity of Michael Jackson's three children didn't get any clearer this morning when Dr. Arnold Klein, one of the buzzed potential papas, appeared on Good Morning America. "I can't say anything about it, but, to the best of my knowledge, I am not the father of these children," he told Diane Sawyer. "I can't answer it in any other way. I don't want to feed any of this insanity that is going around." What he would say about the three children, two of whom are his former assistant, Debbie Rowe's, simply reiterated a message that was driven home yesterday during daughter Paris' impromptu speech. "I will tell you one thing: these are brilliant children and I want them in no way to be harmed," he said. "These are great, wonderful, fabulous children who he loved deeply." Now, as for the King of Pop's drug use... Klein insists he is not one of the five doctors currently under investigation for supplying Jackson with the prescription drugs that possibly led … [Read more...] about Dr. Klein: Not M.J.’s Baby Daddy “To the Best of My Knowledge”
What's with all this breaking news about Dr. Arnie Klein being investigated for Michael Jackson's death? I'm wondering what took so long for the coroner to finally make a house call to the questionable doc's office. The Awful T. told you over a week ago how so-not-right M.J.'s doc is, it's a friggin' no-brainer. Need I remind you how addictive and dangerous Klein's prescription of Demerol actually was? And how much certain docs would love to give it to M.J. whenever he came in for the smallest stuff? I certainly wouldn't be surprised if La Toya was right all along—and that's saying a lot, to be on the side of a woman allegedly paid for her doc-slamming interview. But murder? Hmm. Pretty strong words, La Toya, especially coming from a gal who used to crap all over her family every chance she got. Why so mama-bear with them now? Let's hope Klein gets more heat on him than Dr. Jan Adams did when he helped botch the plastic surgery of Donde West (Kanye's beloved mother) last year. … [Read more...] about Morning Piss: Blame M.J.’s Doc? MIA capped her preggo Grammy show by popping out a boy. We can't wait to see how she'll top that come Oscar time. When last we saw the British-born Sri Lankan singer, she and her belly were gyrating onstage during Sunday's Grammy night performance of "Swagga Like Us" with Jay-Z, Kanye West, T.I. and Lil Wayne. Because it was her due date, producers had a golf cart at the ready should she go into labor. To hear her tell it, she almost needed it. In an all-caps, grammar-eschewing announcement on her MySpace blog today, M.I.A. recounted an eventful past few days.
