Black cats are being shamefully rejected for the stupidest reasons, according to animal charities. Pussies with black fur are being left in rescue centres because their owners don’t deem them aesthetically pleasing enough for social media. They are not deemed Instagram-worthy or good for being in selfies. Sanctuaries around the country are struggling to find new homes for the dart-coloured kitties. The Feline Care Cat Rescue in East Harling, Norfolk, has launched a poster campaign featuring three kitten silhouettes with the Ali G-inspired slogan ‘Is it because we is black?’ Manager Molly Farrar said: “We have definitely noticed a difficulty in rehoming black cats. “I suspect it will only get worse with selfie culture and people wanting things to be pretty all the time.''
