You have to go back to 2009 for the last time a county council division in Broadland was held by a party other than the Conservatives or the Liberal Democrats. Labour's Barbara Lashley lost Sprowston to Conservative John Ward in May that year and since then it's been all blue and yellow. However, the Conservatives have not had everything their own way following their success that year. In 2009, Liberal Democrat Dan Roper took the Hevingham and Spixworth division from the Tories. Mr Roper, a former deputy leader at County Hall, will be looking to see off the challenge of Conservative Shaun Vincent this time around. Mr Vincent, who represents Plumstead on Broadland District Council, came second last time around, 170 votes shy of Mr Roper. Labour have 14 Labour, UKIP and independent 11, 10 Liberal Democrats, three Greens, three non-aligned and one vacancy.
